I praise you Lord for the life that stirs in me, the earth, sea, and the sky. I praise you Lord for the work you give me to do, the things that fill my leisure hours, for my friends, music, books, good company, and pure pleasure.
O God of mercy, I ask that you give me a tender heart today for those that have less joy than I have today: those whose life grows weak, must stay in bed, shut off from sun light, overworked, no joy of leisure, the unemployed, and the bereaved whose hearts and homes are desolate. Father, give them your mercy. Amen.
