Day 11 of 30 Days of Prayer

Dear God,

Without you I cannot breathe, think, or love. Thank you for guiding, teaching, training, strengthening me and for carrying me on those days that the world seems to be on my shoulders and life doesn’t seem to matter. Thank you for making me laugh, stuffing my days with joy, smothering me with kindness, reminding me that you have not forgotten me. Amen.

If you don’t know God as beautiful and satisfying, you don’t know him.

Day 7 of 30 Days of Prayer

Dear God,

On this Christmas Eve, may the joys and mystery of your love abound for all who are anxious, depressed, or ill. Get close to them who find this season a source of pain or grief. Embrace with your tender care all who wander alone or have no place to lay their head, so they may experience the hope of Christ. Strengthen family ties of love and commitment, so they may delight in the joy of the Savior. Open hearts to your presence, that we may be transformed by the new birth. Amen.

Day 4 of 30 Days of Prayer

Dear God, It’s the Christmas season. A time when some folks spillover with joy and peace, yet the minds of others weep with sorrow and hopelessness. I pray the joy and peace find its place in the lives of others: those who don’t know you; those who lack intimacy with you; those who want to know you, and those that know you.  Father, I pray season blossoms with abounding hope even when people, places and things seem forlorn. Amen.

  • Completing a novel..not Nanowrimo.
  • Falling behind the word count on Nanowrimo because I can only work on one project at time.

33 Days of Prayer Journey: Day 23

Dear God,

Everyone at one time or another has been foolish, disobedient, deceived, and followed their passions and pleasures. There is not one person who has not been hated or hated back, walked around with a chip on their shoulder, or envied another.

I know, I’ve been there, done that, worn the T-shirt. Forgive me when these emotions and reactions rule over Your Word, Your Way, and Your Will. Thank you for your mercy that I’m not destroyed. Your loving-kindness is new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness.

33 Days of Prayer Journey: Day 16

Dear God, I confess that I do not always trust your timing and attempt to do things my way; I do not remember to rely on your promises although your Word says you “will never leave” or “never forsake me”; however, when the dark valley gets lonely I wonder where you are in the midst of my confusion and the chaos. I confess that I do not always wait for your answers, and sometimes grow angry when your answer is not what I want to hear. Forgive me.

33 Days of Prayer Journey: Day 9

Today, I admit I have faults and failures. Sometimes I try your patience, Lord, but you forgive me and still love me. Please forgive me for giving into temptation, choosing the worse situation when I know better; hardening my heart against the faults of my neighbor, coworker, friend, spouse, or sibling yet not focusing my own failures; envying someone who is doing a great work and not believing God has called me to a small work. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in me. Amen.
