Dear God, I want to be part of social change, a rebel like Christ, but God you know as I walk this path folks will make me angry, annoyed, outraged, heated, vexed, and huffy. Don’t let me use anger to fuel my revenge. Don’t let me stay angry. Don’t let me go to bed angry. Don’t let foul or dirty words slip from my mouth. Help me to say what helps, to be sensitive, to forgive as quickly as you forgave me. Amen.

Dear God, I pray that this faith we have common keeps showing up in the good things that we do, and that people recognize Christ in all of it, that Your love makes them feel good, and that faith and hope outweighs unbelief and despair. Lord, I pray all that I do reflects all that you’ve done for me — a living, walking, breathing sinner, who tripped and stumbled but did not give up trusting you. Amen.

Lordy, Lordy, it is the third day of 2014. Praise you for all the joy and love, pain and sorrow this year will bring. As I experience the hallelujah and-oh-no-not-again moments, develop my character, give me courage, increase my faith, squash my fears, erase my worries and stay with me. Amen.

Dear God,
Thank you for the beauty of the day. Friends to laugh with. Family to love. Thank you for the air I breathe. The eyes to see, the ears to hear, a heart of desire. Thank you for dreams, turning dreams into reality, squashing dreams that are worthless. Thank you for carrying me through the storms when things look ugly, I can not laugh, I can not see pass my angst, my heart is broken, and I dream no more. Thank you Father for creating and loving me. Amen.

Dear God,
I want a closer walk with you, a humble heart, and a teachable spirit. I don’t want to cling to old ways in this new year. I trust the plans you have for me today, tomorrow, and forever. Help me to focus in you. Amen.

Dear God,
Without you I cannot breathe, think, or love. Thank you for guiding, teaching, training, strengthening me and for carrying me on those days that the world seems to be on my shoulders and life doesn’t seem to matter. Thank you for making me laugh, stuffing my days with joy, smothering me with kindness, reminding me that you have not forgotten me. Amen.
If you don’t know God as beautiful and satisfying, you don’t know him.

Dear God,
Just as Jabez pleaded, we plead that you do good things for us, expand our territory—the tools and courage we need to do your will, your way. And provide your personal protection — keep us from harm so we might not endure pain — while we maintain our territory! Please Lord, remember us and strengthen us. Amen.

Dear God,
Give us the vision to see Your love in the world despite of human failure.
Give us the faith to trust Your goodness regardless of our ignorance and weakness.
Give us the knowledge that we may continue to pray with understanding hearts.
And show us what we, individually and collectively, can do to have peace in our home, at work, in the community, in our church, in our nation, and throughout the world. Amen.
